In the early hours of 16 April, a fire erupted in the upper area of IY, presenting a daunting challenge for the dedicated firefighters. Despite the adverse weather conditions, including strong winds, the Fire Department promptly responded and successfully brought the fire under control. We are immensely grateful that there were no reported injuries or fatalities resulting from this incident.
An estimated 200 homes were lost, which was a sad reminder that as a community, we must remain vigilant and prioritize fire safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Together, we can create a safer environment for everyone to thrive and live without fear of devastating fires.
