Relief Work 2017

Fire in IY 25th June

On the afternoon of the 25th June a fire was reported in the “Disa” area of IY. Tragically, five structures were engulfed in flames, leaving approximately ten families with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. The preliminary investigation suggests that an electrical fault was the cause of the fire.
We are immensely grateful for the swift response and containment of the fire by the fire and rescue team. Their prompt action helped prevent further devastation within a matter of moments.

In response to the fire, we immediately mobilized to support the 41 individuals affected. We provided them with essential supplies, including groceries, toiletries, bedding, kettles, two-plate stoves, a box of three pots, and a selection of clothing. It was our aim to offer some comfort and relief during this difficult time.

We extend our deepest appreciation to all those who supported us in these relief efforts. Your generosity and compassion have made a significant impact on the lives of those affected by the fire.
