About us

WHAT WE DO

At Thula Thula Hout Bay, we understand the profound impact that fires have on the lives of resident of informal housing areas. Year after year, these devastating events strip individuals and families of their belongings, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they wear. That’s why our organization was established by a group of proactive residents who recognized the critical need for preparedness and support in the face of these inevitable tragedies.

With a foundation built upon years of hands-on experience as community volunteers, we have witnessed the urgent necessity for centralized and coordinated efforts to collect and distribute resources effectively. Moreover, we understand the heartfelt desire of generous individuals to ensure that their contributions reach those who need them most. We believe in distributing support fairly and promptly, providing essential aid to those affected by fires.

In our commitment to assisting fire-affected individuals, we have developed an innovative app that allows us to register victims in need of relief. This tool enables seamless communication and validation, ensuring targeted relief delivery to those truly in need. By utilizing this technology, we uphold our values of transparency and accountability while treating fire victims with compassion and dignity.

Thula Thula Hout Bay actively engages in proactive disaster relief preparations, fostering strong partnerships with local government, residents, businesses, and retailers. By collaborating together, we strengthen our ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, offering timely support to those in need.
