Fire in IY 26th March

On the evening of March 26th, a distress call was received regarding a fire in Madiba Square, IY. Despite the swift response from all emergency services, the challenging conditions led to the heartbreaking loss of hundreds of homes impacting more than 126 families.
In the wake of this tragedy, the team at Thula Thula Hout Bay worked over two days to register all those in need of our support. Our mission is to provide immediate relief and assistance to the affected individuals and families during this difficult time.
Thanks to, Yebo Fresh, who once again, created a shopping link on their platform, enabling donors to sponsor grocery packs for the affected families. This collaboration played an important role in ensuring that essential provisions reached those who needed them most.
Additionally, we extend a heartfelt thank you to The Angel Network – Western Cape for their generous contribution of much-needed blankets. Their support has helped bring comfort and warmth to those affected by the fire.

As always the partnership with City of Cape Town Disaster and Risk Management is greatly appreciated as we share the vision of providing humanitarian relief in the face of such devastating fires have been invaluable.
