Early Sunday 5 July, a devastating fire engulfed Madiba Square an area in Imizamo Yethu. The fire and rescue teams are worked tirelessly to contain the flames.
Initial assessments indicate damage to around 20 structures. On-site registration was done to assess the full extent of the loss, as each structure provided homes for multiple families.
Within days we were able to provide the necessary humanitarian relief items such as toiletries, groceries, clothing, bedding, baby care packs, kettles and two plate stoves.
